‘‘No one knows where this weapon of exceptional power came from. It is said to exist in many dimensions at the same time...
The Aeturnum will fire a projectile a short distance before exploding and instantly hitting nearby enemies with beams of magic. It's best to aim where the projectile will hit as many enemies at once. When powered it fires a black hole.’’

Aeturnum is the seventh and the last weapon of Amid Evil. It utilizes purple mana and is considered a part of the heavy arsenal.

Description

Appearance

Because of its unearthly origins, it is hard to describe what Aeturnum is; it is a twisted lattice of purple energy ribbons rather than a weapon.

Abilities

Aeturnum launches a magic circle projectile that stops at a certain point in space and time and releases numerous purple lightning beams that will strike all nearby enemies. When soul-powered it fires a black hole that sucks in every living being close to it.

Summary

Does everyone remember BFG-9000? Would you be impressed if I told you that Aeturnum acts the same? If not, then you should be aware of the fact that mana for it is very scarce and can be rarely met in medium sizes. Therefore it is best to refrain from using this weapon during soul mode unless it's necessary for the situation or you ran out of every other mana. Aside from that, this is your good weapon choice when you need to clear areas from a large amount of small and medium enemies.

Facts & trivia

  • Celestial Claw and soul-powered Aeturnum are the only weapons that can damage and kill Champion.
  • All enemies sucked into the black hole don't drop souls.
  • If the player dies in the black hole they will be shown the "Obliterated" death screen.
  • Bosses take less damage from Aeturnum's projectiles as they only get hit by a single lightning.
    • With the exception of Twin Terror, who take more damage from it because lightning beams target each part of their bodies.
    • However, bosses can get damaged by all of the lightning strikes if Aeturnum's projectile stops inside or directly under them.
    • Black holes don't suck them up and instead deal temporary damage over time.
    • Oddly, if you shoot at Solar Saint, projectiles will bounce off him and play "Cling!" sound that can be heard when reflecting Lunar Deacon's attacks with Whisper's Edge.
